I know today is supposed to be my LP day, but I just couldn't wait to show you guys this invention! I'm aware that it takes advantage of a bug (but, let's face it, so do the signs that we use to hold back water streams =p) The machine, SSAGE is used to very easily mass-produce sand and gravel extremely quickly. It is extremely quick and easy to make and is very impressive to watch in action. It would be possible to automate this system (and perhaps I might put up a tutorial on how to make an Auto SSAGE in the next couple of weeks) and produce infinite amounts of sand or gravel. To produce the sand or gravel, SSAGE takes advantage of the way that pistons work and the way that they interact with the gravity affected blocks. If the gravity affected blocks are moved about in just the right way, they are destroyed, turning into an obtainable item. To my knowledge, the pistons don't actually move blocks - rather they 'destroy' the original block and create a new one in the new location. SSAGE causes the sand block to break as it is being duplicated by the moving piston and, as a result, it is possible to both collect the sand block AND leave it in the system to be duplicated again.
